Gambling
Gambling
involves taking risk without demanding compensation in the form of increased
expected return. Examples of Gambling are horse riding, game of cards, lottery
etc;
Characteristics
of Gamblers
1. Gambler never
stops while winning
3. Gambler seeks
and enjoys a strange thrill from gambling, a combination of pleasure and pain
4. Gambler
eventually risks more than he or she can afford
5. Gambling is a
typical, chronic and repetitive experience
6. Gambling
absorbs all other interests
Some Gamblers
unconsciously want to lose and they transform pain into pleasure. Some others
consciously make fortunes through gambling and the possibility of earning real
money by normal work is greatly restricted, if not totally.
