New Year Wishes 2014

Season's Greetings & Continual Improvement for 2014!

Hello Bloggers,

Please take some of your precious time to read this, sorry for being lengthy on New Year Wishes.

New Year always starts with celebration and enjoyment; I feel it is the time for appreciating ourselves and our near and dear ones for the accomplishments made in the last year. It also gives us an opportunity to plan for the coming year in terms of personally and professionally.

Always, proactive and planned approach enables us to achieve more than adhoc /reactive strategy. Many call the plan as resolutions, but I would like to put it as wish and wants, that we need to achieve in order to enrich our life. I think and experienced that a simple and good plan with stricter discipline of monitoring, will have greater probability of success.

Resolutions are like, Example: “To quit smoking in 2014”, but instead the process goals enable us to define it much better: “Smoking only X Cigs/day for first 3 months and then reduce it to X-2 for next 3 months, and finally end in Zero”. This may be more implementable than a resolution, which is more like a high level plan. (Note: Smokers, please excuse, this example is unintentional :-))

Here is a simple template which I started following (with some examples). I thought, I will share it with you as well.

A word of caution: Planning is only half done; execution lies the key. So, after making this plan, make it as a practice to update the progress in the daily/weekly tracker.
